Play "Santa Claws" For Homeless Cats
Tenth Life Cat Tree
Tenth Life Cat Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal welfare organization that
provides another chance at life to injured and abused stray cats. Tenth Life's focus
is on felines with extreme medical needs or ongoing health conditions that make it
difficult for typical shelters and rescues to afford their care.
From December 7th-11th, Pets in the City is hosting the official
"Tenth Life Shopping Days".
You come to the store, pick an ornament off the tree (located in our "cat" room)
and make a donation based on the suggestion on the ornament. You can choose
what to donate based on your price range, or make a cash/check gift. A sweet and
simple way to help out some needy kitties this season!
Cylest's Pet Cot Challenge

Our hard-working friends at
Gateway Pet Guardians
are setting up an emergency shelter for the stray East Saint Louis dogs they help
on a daily basis.
Learn how you can help Pets in the City donate some nice pet cots (from O'Fallon
based The Pet Cot Company) for their dog runs, as challenged by store manager
Dawn's 16 year old daughter, Cylest:
"Recently my daughter, Cylest, turned 16. Around the same time, she overheard me talking to my
husband about how I wanted to do a collection at the store to purchase Pet Cots for the Gateway
Pet Guardian's Emergency Shelter (which is opening in the Spring). Cylest pulled me to the side
to ask me about how much was needed and asked if it would be okay if she donated some of her
birthday money. What a wonderful idea!
So, we decided that not only would she donate $20, she wanted to issue a challenge at the same
time. In her words, "I'm just a kid and willing to donate some of my birthday money, surely there
are some other kids or adults out there that would be willing to donate $1, $5, $10 or even match
my $20 so the puppies that end up in the shelter have somewhere nice to sleep." Will you accept
the challenge? If so, there is a bucket next to the register you can drop your money into and a
paw print you can put your name on. Please help us give the street dogs a bed to sleep in while
they are at the shelter."
Home for the Holidays and Green Cleaning Event
Herb'n Maid
Join us Saturday, December 17th, from 11am-3pm. We'll play host to
Herb'n Maid AND Tenth Life Cat Rescue, joined together for some special
causes! Herb'n Maid will show you how to get your home clean for the holidays
without using chemicals, and they're donating $2 from every bottle of their cleaning
product sold to Tenth Life! Tenth Life will have some adorable kitties for adoption
and information about their organization, so you can help give a kitty a home for
the holidays. When guests come for the holidays, they shouldn't know you have a
pet until they MEET the pet! Let Herb'n Maid help you figure out some green
cleaning solutions.
